Germany’s new Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft, has paid a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, as part of his introductory engagements following the presentation of his credentials.
During the meeting at the Manhyia Palace, discussions centered on expanding cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TV ET), academic exchange, and strengthening the longstanding diplomatic and cultural ties between Ghana and Germany.
Ambassador Landshöft commended the Asantehene’s commitment to education and development, noting that the German government remains dedicated to supporting Ghana’s youth through skills development initiatives and academic partnerships with local institutions.
He also announced an upcoming state visit by the German Federal President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, describing it as “a milestone that underscores the growing partnership and mutual respect” between the two nations.
The visit is expected to further deepen bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as education, sustainable development, and trade cooperation, which have formed the backbone of Ghana–Germany relations over the decades.
