In a vibrant display of cultural unity and community solidarity, the Bougafer Association for Development and Solidarity, in collaboration with the Nif Commune, has hosted a large-scale collective wedding celebration in the heart of Tinghir Province.

Rooted in Amazigh customs and aimed at easing financial pressure on young couples, the event drew dozens of families, newlyweds, and members of the Moroccan diaspora. Set against the backdrop of rising living costs, the initiative served as a symbol of resilience, mutual support, and cultural pride.

“These are our authentic traditions that we have preserved for many years and continue to celebrate each year with pride and honor,” said one participant. “It takes place in an atmosphere of tolerance and solidarity.”

The day featured traditional Amazigh music, symbolic gift-giving ceremonies, and folkloric performances, transforming the occasion into more than a wedding—into a public reaffirmation of identity and community roots.

Organizers emphasized that beyond the celebratory mood, the gathering played a deeper role in maintaining Morocco’s intangible heritage and passing on values of solidarity, cooperation, and pride in local traditions to younger generations.
