A tragic plane crash in India has claimed the lives of all 242 passengers and crew, according to early reports from Indian aviation officials. The commercial aircraft went down near a major airport, with no apparent survivors found at the crash site.

The aircraft was reportedly attempting to land amid poor visibility and adverse weather conditions when it lost contact with air traffic control and crashed into terrain just outside the airport perimeter.

Officials confirm total fatalities

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene within minutes, only to find the wreckage engulfed in flames and debris scattered across a wide radius. “At this time, there appear to be no survivors,” a senior aviation official told Amnewsworld under condition of anonymity.

Flight details remain under investigation

Authorities have not yet disclosed the flight number, airline name, or nationalities of those onboard, pending formal identification and notification of next of kin. The Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and disaster management teams are coordinating rescue and recovery operations, while black box recovery efforts are underway to determine the cause of the plane crash in India.

“We are deploying all resources to recover flight recorders and assess what led to this catastrophic event,” said a spokesperson for India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.

International support and condolences

Global aviation agencies, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), have expressed solidarity and are offering technical assistance for the investigation. Several world leaders have extended condolences, as fears grow about potential safety lapses or systemic mechanical failure.
