Egypt’s tourism sector has achieved an unprecedented milestone, generating over $14 billion in revenue within the past eleven months, according to Mubasher Pulse. This marks a 7.8% increase compared to the previous year and sets a new all-time high for the industry.

Key factors driving this success include a 3.97% rise in tourist arrivals, with 14.3 million visitors, and a 7.8% growth in tourist nights, totaling 151.3 million.

Saudi Arabia emerged as one of the leading contributors, with Saudi tourists spending approximately $1.5 billion during their visits. Accounting for half of all Arab arrivals, 1.5 million Saudis traveled to Egypt, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. Other top sources of tourists included Germany, England, and Russia.

Tourism experts are optimistic about the sector’s trajectory, anticipating further growth in 2025, provided regional geopolitical conditions stabilize. Sameh Saad, a former advisor to Egypt’s tourism ministry, highlighted the consistent positive growth rates in the industry for the second consecutive year.

Tourism remains a cornerstone of Egypt’s economy, contributing an 8.2% growth in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024/2025 and playing a significant role in the nation’s overall 3.5% economic growth rate.

As Egypt continues to capitalize on its rich cultural heritage and strategic partnerships, the tourism sector is poised for even greater achievements in the years to come.
