Amnewsworld has received disturbing news from Penteng, a community in the Afigya Kwabre North District of the Ashanti Region, that a Landguard has sustained a degree of injuries while one of his left hand chopped off.
According to the information we had, the Landguards activities in the area is a worrying situation confronting peace and development in communities like, Penteng, Patase, and Pampatia alongside Kodie Apegya.
The Assembly Man for the Penteng Electoral Area, Vincent Yormedor told amnewsworld that the incident linked to a decade land litigation and it refaced again on Monday March 30, 2026.
The information further discloses that the disturbing Landguards activities in the area are being influenced by the alleged self-aclaimed Adomhene Dikro, Yaw Tonto who stays at Apegya.
According to eye witnesses, a resident name Macho is putting up a building near Patase and he has been warned by the Landguards not to continue with the building project but he failed to adhere to warnings from allegedly self-claimed Yaw Tonto’s Landguards even though the project has repeatedly demolished on separate occasions.
On that unfaithful Monday, the Landguards visit the site and Macho has raised the building project to lentil level and they pull it down.
Information further revealed to us that, upon receiving the news that his project had been pulled down, he went to the site to demand answers of why the building was pulled down from the Landguards, and violence confrontation ensued between him and the Landguards.
The Assembly Man told us again that, the victim in a revenge move, reportedly went home and armed with a machete and returned to the site and confronted them of which two of the Landguards fled while one stood on his grounds but lucky was not on his side and he was physically attacked and butchered inflicting severe cuts on part of his body while one of his hand has been cutoff leaving a deep cut at the back of his neck.
Kodie Police District Command then rushed to the scene and transported him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he is receiving medical treatment.
The incident however triggered the rest of the Landguards and they stormed the Victim/suspect house and burnt down his family house.
To authenticate the nitty-gritty of the Landguards activities, our intel told us Yaw Tonto, a self-aclaimed Odikro to Adomhene at Apegya is behind the Landguards attacks in the community.
Our intel has it again that, Yaw Tonto Landguards went and chased one Alhaji Lalmongue and the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly Taskforce from his land he ( Alhaji Lalmongue) legitimately acquired.
The self-aclaimed Odikro, Yaw Tonto according to our intel, is using the position of Adomhene to commit atrocities in the area with Landguards and needs to be checked before the situation gets out of hand.
The activities of the Landguards, the Assembly man pleaded, is creating fear and panic among residents in the area and needs urgent security intervention to protect lives and properties.”The Landguards situation is withholding the development of the three communities”. He added.
The residents however appeals to His Royal Highness Otumfou Osei Tutu II to sanction swift interventions to halt the ugly activities of Yaw Tonto who is not a native in the Penteng, Patase, and Pampatia and its environs.
