The Mayor for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Hon. Richard Agyemang Osei Boadi has called for truce among Ghanaians especially religious bodies to facilitate common platform to enhance Development in the country.
The Metropolitan Mayor was speaking duuring Eid al-Fitr Ramadan at the T. I Ahmadiyya Senior High School.
Addressing Muslims, he tasks them not to see the Ramadan as a celebration but a sacred moment to reflect on the imperative nature of the event and celebrate it in peace to project the image Islam.
He stressed that, trust have eluded us as a nation where leaders failed to leave up to expectations and this has undermines the forward match of the nation.
He noted that since independence, Ghana should have seen a significant transformation but that could not achieved due to leadership commitment and transparency where leaders failed to exhibit the spirit of truthfulness .
“I don’t expect anything from any regious body, what I expect from them is peace and unit”.
Hon. Richard Agyemang Osei Boad a.k.a Zuba used the occasion to caution Muslim youth not to use the event to engage in violence instead, conduct themselves meaningfully to reflect their beliefs.
