Password Safety Tips
Strong passwords are the first line of defense against cybercriminals. Here’s how to create and maintain secure passwords:
Use Complex Passwords
- Combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
- Avoid using names, birthdates, or common words like "password123"
Don’t Reuse Passwords
- Use different passwords for different accounts
- A breach in one platform shouldn't expose all your accounts
Change Passwords Regularly
- Update your passwords every 3 to 6 months
- Immediately change your password if a platform reports a breach
Make It Long
- Aim for at least 12 characters
- The longer the password, the harder it is to crack
Use a Password Manager
