Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, December 19, John Kapi, WAEC\u2019s Head of Public Affairs, revealed that unresolved financial obligations have hindered the examination process, particularly in maintaining critical equipment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe results are not ready. We earlier highlighted some of the challenges we\u2019re facing, and unfortunately, these persist because we lack the necessary funds to resolve them,\u201d Mr. Kapi stated.<\/p>\n

A primary issue involves the malfunctioning of specialized scanners essential for marking objective questions. The technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing the equipment have halted their services due to an outstanding debt of GH\u20b525 million owed by WAEC.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe owe the technicians GH\u20b525 million, and they\u2019ve withdrawn their services until we make financial commitments. While private schools pay directly, the government covers fees for public school candidates. Until these funds are disbursed, we can\u2019t release the results,\u201d Mr. Kapi explained.<\/p>\n
