Foreign Ministries everywhere remain professional even during campaigns and resist any temptation to be seen as an appendage of a political party.<\/p>\n
This is the only time in Ghana\u2019s history that our Foreign Ministry has been forced to invite heads of diplomatic missions and honorary consulates to a partisan campaign event.<\/p>\n

The Bawumia campaign should have proceeded to invite the top diplomats directly to grace his campaign event without asking our Foreign Ministry to do that on their behalf.<\/p>\n
Is the Ministry of Foreign of Affairs and Regional Integration therefore suggesting that the NDC, CPP or any other party or presidential campaign can now ask them to organize diplomats for them?<\/p>\n

As could be expected, a considerable number of diplomats have expressed strong disappointment about the desecration of Ghana\u2019s Foreign Ministry which hitherto was held in very high esteem.<\/p>\n
“It is my sincerest hope that distinguished serving and retired Ghanaian senior diplomats will rise up and resist this condemnable debasement of our Foreign Ministry.”-Okudzeto stated.<\/p>\n
