Emission Levy: Affected Vehicles And Motorcycles And Amount Expected To Be Paid Annually<\/strong><\/p>\n

The government of Ghana has imposed an Emission levy on vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles effective 1, Febuary 2024.<\/p>\n

The level will affect this category of vehicles and motorcycles and how much they would be paying annually.<\/p>\n

1. Motorcycles and tricycles-GHs 75<\/p>\n

2. Motor Vehicles, buses and coaches up to 3.0 litres- 150<\/p>\n

3. Motor vehicles, buses and coaches above 3.0 litres GHs300<\/p>\n

4. Cargo tracks and articulated trucks GHs300<\/p>\n

Many well-meaning Ghanaians have kicked against the levy stressing that the vehicle Emission Tax is nothing but the reintroduction of ROAD TOLLS. It has nothing to do with emissions and climate change mitigation. <\/span><\/p>\n

And the government is not being honest with Ghanaians about it. If it were to be about Climate Change, they should have been telling us how the specific amounts collected will be applied.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
