Former Ghana International Yaw Preko has called for support for under-fire Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor.<\/p>\n
According to the former Medeama coach, Akonnor has the quality to succeed as head of the national team with support from Ghanaians.<\/p>\n
Charles Kwabla Akonnor was appointed as the coach for the Black Stars in 2020, replacing Kwesi Appiah on a two-year deal. He was deputy to Coach Appiah before being handed the mandate to coach the team.<\/p>\n
The 47-year-old has come under pressure in recent times due to his call ups and style of play.<\/p>\n
The Black Stars failed to impress against Ethiopia despite securing a 1-0 win at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in their opening game in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n
Yaw Preko is supportive of his former teammates indicating he is competent enough to manage the Black Stars.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe [CK Akonnor] is a fine coach and I think he has what it takes to coach the Black Stars,\u201d he told Asempa FM.
