The all-time national record stands at \u201351.5 degrees Celsius, measured in Pokka, Kittil\u00e4, on January 28, 1999.<\/p>\n
Southern Finland has also felt the impact of the deep freeze. In the capital, Helsinki, temperatures fell below \u201320 degrees Celsius for the first time this winter, with wind chill making conditions feel closer to \u201330 degrees. Meteorologists noted that while such temperatures are not unusual for Finland, this marks the coldest spell the capital has experienced so far this season.<\/p>\n
